Bison is the technical name and the term used by the USDA on the meat label. Buffalo is the term used by Lewis and Clark and most historical references.
What do you feed your bison?
Forages we raise – grass, hay and haylage.
How often are tours conducted at your farm?
Groups of 12 or more can schedule a tour of the farm and it lasts about an hour and fifteen minutes. You will be taken into a pasture with an up close view of the buffalo. Twice a year we participate in farm tours sponsored by the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association (spring) and Person County (fall). These tours are usually 30 minutes in length and go as close to the buffalo as we can get without going into the pasture.

Do local restaurants use your bison meat?
Due to our limited supply of bison meat, there are a few local restaurants that occasionally use our meat for specials: Only Burger routinely serves bison sliders and Little Dipper routinely serves bison meatballs.
Do you ship bison meat? If so, how much does it cost to ship?
Yes. Shipping costs include a special box and liner, which will add $15 to the shipping price. UPS and Fed Ex charges are usually an additional $25 or more. Meat shipped within NC, to SC or Virginia ships next day ground and usually arrives by end of the next business day. Credit card charges include a 2.75% fee. Therefore, orders of 15 or more pounds of bison are more cost effective than smaller shipments.
